Cristina Corgnati - BA in Foreign Literature and Languages
Born in Chivasso on the 2nd November, 1969, I live and work in Cigliano,
Vercelli. I graduated in Modern Foreign Literature and Languages
(English, French and Spanish) at the Università Cattolica del Sacro
Cuore, Milan.
I also took a post-graduate master and courses to gain greater professionalism
and comprehension of the market:
Master in Technical
Translations specializing in Information Technology
and Telematics
Business training
course at SDA Bocconi, Milan.
I gained experience as a foreign language teacher during a period
of teaching both in public and private schools.
I started working as an external consultant and collaborator, and
then as an employee with an important translation agency in Turin
which specializes in technical manuals.
I have dealt with translations, revision, proof-reading, glossary
updates, retrieval and distribution of reference material.
As Project Coordinator for the ETC (European Translation Consortium),
I was responsible for administration and coordination of the translation
of technical standards for the European Commission in accordance
with Directive 83/189/EEC; translations for the European Parliament
and other projects for various European Community bodies (EURODICAUTOM
update). I was also in communication with the Brussels central secretariat,
Ministers and national companies, and responsible for tender preparation.
After this valuable experience I decided to start working as a freelance
translator and currently collaborate with major translation companies
and agencies in Italy and abroad as well as working directly for
Italian and foreign companies and industries.
