My education and working experience

Cristina Corgnati - BA in Foreign Literature and Languages

Born in Chivasso on the 2nd November, 1969, I live and work in Cigliano, Vercelli. I graduated in Modern Foreign Literature and Languages (English, French and Spanish) at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.

I also took a post-graduate master and courses to gain greater professionalism and comprehension of the market:
Master in Technical Translations specializing in Information Technology
   and Telematics
Business training course at SDA Bocconi, Milan.

I gained experience as a foreign language teacher during a period of teaching both in public and private schools.

I started working as an external consultant and collaborator, and then as an employee with an important translation agency in Turin which specializes in technical manuals.
I have dealt with translations, revision, proof-reading, glossary updates, retrieval and distribution of reference material.
As Project Coordinator for the ETC (European Translation Consortium), I was responsible for administration and coordination of the translation of technical standards for the European Commission in accordance with Directive 83/189/EEC; translations for the European Parliament and other projects for various European Community bodies (EURODICAUTOM update). I was also in communication with the Brussels central secretariat, Ministers and national companies, and responsible for tender preparation.

After this valuable experience I decided to start working as a freelance translator and currently collaborate with major translation companies and agencies in Italy and abroad as well as working directly for Italian and foreign companies and industries.
